The Contador Vineyard, with its natural heritage of planted grape varieties, and Time, that intangible heritage that contributes to making everything better. The passage of time is something imperceptible, and we don't know its exact measure. It is just enough time. Time never passes quickly or slowly. Time passes by the minute, the hour, the day, and the year. The four seasons are the mark that time leaves. It is at the end of each vine cycle that the wine is born, and therefore, it is from autumn to autumn that we count time. At Paço dos Cunhas, there is no rush. That is the time a Contador Vineyard must wait. While we wait for one to be ready, we prepare the next. We cultivate the vine, which, organically, requires us to take better care of it, to look after it more, to protect its plants. And we hope that the mountains will help the vine, protecting it from the winds, and giving it only the necessary hours of sunshine, no more, no less, hours of a sun that rises behind the Serra da Estrela and sets beyond the Caramulo.
